National Motoring Heritage Day

Canberra Antique and Classic Motor Club has for many years run an outing on National Motoring Heritage Day (NMHD). All CACTMC affiliated clubs are invited to join this event.
Shannons has planned a Cars, Bikes ‘n’ Coffee gathering at EPIC off Northbourne Avenue to coincide with NMHD.
Southern Tablelands Heritage Automotive Restorers Club (STHARC), in association with CACTMC, have organized a morning run which will finish at EPIC.
The run which will commence at Woden and travel via Civic, Dickson, War Memorial and airport, to Queanbeyan then return to Canberra via Majura Parkway and Federal Highway.
From 9.00am to 9.30am – assemble at the car park on Yamba Drive Woden opposite Canberra Hospital. Only access is from northbound lanes of Yamba Drive (ie Hindmarsh drive end of Yamba Drive) Car park entry is first exit off Yamba from Hindmarsh end.
9.30am – Departure from Woden for Dickson
10.00 am: Depart Dickson along Antil Street, Cowper Street, Majura Avenue and Limestone Avenue to the War Memorial, past Canberra Airport along Fairbairn and Pialligo to Oaks Estate Road.
Enter Queanbeyan from Oaks Estate then past John Forbes nursing home and Queanbeyan Hospital to Queanbeyan CBD. A short loop through older part of Queanbeyan then via Canberra Avenue and Hindmarsh Drive to join the Monaro Highway northbound at Symonston.
At the Federal Highway/Majura Parkway interchange the left ramp returns participants to the Federal Highway.
The run terminates at Federal Highway intersection with Sterling Avenue Watson.
Shannons’ Cars Bikes ‘n’ Coffee: is being held at EPIC from 9.00am to 12.00pm. There will be coffee and sausage sizzle available at the Shannons event. To access the Shannons event turn right at the first traffic lights adjacent to the service station and McDonalds on the intersection with Sterling Avenue and follow signage.
