The Battle of Waterloo has been RESCHEDULED for Sunday August 17th and will be held in Kings Park (not Rond Terraces).
A event is a gathering of French and British cars, including some bicycles, to commemorate the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. The event is being sponsored by Shannon’s Insurance. In past years the event has attracted up to 100 cars and around 150 participants.
The event is being organized by the Renault Owners Club of Canberra (ROCC) in conjunction with the Peugeot Association of Canberra (PAC) and sponsors and is open to the general public.
Access to the event is via Wendouree Drive from either Constitution Avenue or Kings Avenue. Event signage will be provided at both entrances to Wendouree Drive. An official in a fluoro vest will be at the entrance to guide cars to their respective locations. Please obey instructions of the officials and be careful of all pedestrians.
A speed limit of 5 km/h applies for the event and under car drip trays are required.
Coffee, tea and drink facilities will be available. Food will be provided by a BBQ run by the PAC next to the coffee van. Each will have waste disposal facilities. Toilet facilities are located in Kings and Commonwealth Parks.
Bottles of “The Arrogant Frog” will be available as “door” prizes to be drawn towards the end of the event. So stick around in case you are a winner. These are donated by Shannons. Otherwise the event is to be glass free.
Public parking is available in designated areas along Wendouree Drive.
Contingency for poor weather: the event will be cancelled if the forecast is for high or gusty winds or rain. Any cancellation advice will be posted on Friday 15th on the Council’s (this) website if necessary.

Please note entry to the event is off Kings Avenue or Parkes Way. You will note from the map there is a spoon drain between the entry points from Parkes Way. Please make sure you access at the correct entry point. It is not possible to cross the spoon drain; if you try you may be there all day until you get towed out.
Club’s are permitted to bring along their own BBQs.
All British car clubs will need to gain entry from Parkes Way following direction from the attendant on duty. It is important to go across the correct side of the drain. It is not possible to cross the spoon drain otherwise you will get stuck in the mud. The Rolls Royce Owners Club of Australia should gain entry to the event through Kings Avenue.
The first Wheels display was held on 14 March 1982 on Phillip Oval.
The Nursery celebrates its centenary of providing trees and shrubs to Canberra residents this year. To mark the occasion the ACT Heritage Unit is planning a display of vehicles at the Old English Garden section of the nursery on Sunday 6 April 2014. Should you be interested in participating in the display (from 9.30am to approx. 3.00pm) please contact Graham Gittins on 0419 249 109 or firstname.lastname@example.org
